Early Spring and Fall are such beautiful times for outdoor portraits. I like to tell my clients to aim for the time of year when the greenery is either *just* starting to emerge, or *just* about all done for the year! The reasoning behind this is I find the strong GREEN tones of summer to overpower just about everything else in a photograph. Of course this can be toned down during the editing process, but I prefer not to alter portraits too much in terms of their original colours.
Below are highlights from a Spring family photography session this past May in Toronto that shows these emerging greens. They go so well with the neutral clothing palette that this family is wearing!
