I’ve followed this family along for the ride as they had their first daughter, settled into new jobs, moved homes, had their second daughter, did some renovations, and now – welcoming their third daughter into their beautiful and busy lives.
When I visited them two weeks ago, it was a morning that was just like any other, I’m sure. Mom was feeding the newborn, dad was washing up and dressing the older girls, and grandma was brightening up the house with some fresh flower arrangements (she worked as a florist many years ago). I was warned that the middle sister was having a “toddler morning” after waking up at 5:30am and was expecting tears and tantrums, but I think with my arrival it must have reset her because she treated me to lots of smiles and giggles during her part of the shoot…until about 45 minutes later when she decided she was done with it all 🙂
I can’t express how much I adore this family. Yes, their house is a photographer’s dream and could probably be featured in a magazine (thanks to both mom and grandma’s impeccable taste and ability to find treasures wherever they shop) but it is the laughter and joy that they openly express that makes anyone who spends time with them feel welcomed and a part of the family. Oh, the laughter. And the chatter. And the sweating (this mama and I always end up overheating during our sessions…I think it’s the combination of endless chit chat, laughs, and all the movement). I just love them.
