Happy New Year!

The last two months of last year were hectic but full of bright memories! The holiday sessions in November were a tremendous success. I had a few families who, unfortunately, had to cancel due to the flu so it was the first year, ever, where I was able to offer spots to families on the waiting list!

January is usually a quieter work month so I’ve had some time to rest and start planning the year ahead. Have you started thinking about your own family portraits for 2026 yet? I have. I’m booking my own family in for some professional photos in March; more details about that to come!

If you’re hoping to document some family memories, planning early gives you the best chance to match your session to the look and feel you love most. Winter sessions, in particular, are an underrated favourite of mine! Fresh snow, cozy layers, knit hats, and rosy cheeks create joyful moments that photograph beautifully. Whether it’s a snowy walk in the park, a backyard snowball fight, or a ski date at a local hill like Earl Bales in North York (YES, Toronto has a small ski hill!), this is when the genuine smiles happen.

If you’re considering a session during the warmer months, summer and fall tend to book 3-4 months in advance so it’s smart to start the conversation early so you have first choice of dates.

Reach out if you’d like to plan some fun portraits together!
