Funny (and flattering) story, this one is. This mom had scheduled her family for an in-home session in mid-January. She was pregnant with her third baby and wanted to capture some lifestyle maternity portraits with her husband and two boys.
Well, many of you know that I injured my leg on January 7th and thus couldn’t do any sessions for at least three months. So we moved her session to May. It turned out that by her scheduled session date, I was JUST re-learning how to walk. To make a long story short, we ended up moving the session to September to capture some early moments with the new baby after he was born.
When September rolled in, they told me they had sold their home and were living with her parents while they searched for a new place. This meant that we didn’t have a “home” for their in-home family session! And they waited NINE months for this session with me (again, so flattered!)
I suggested we do their session at a Toronto studio, and set it up to be a cozy space for the family.
She agreed.
And so we finally had the session.
…and it was perfect.
Just look at them. These boys, they were the most AMAZING big brothers I have ever photographed – they were patient, responsible, listened to directions, and completely enamoured with their new baby bro. The parents, they were up for anything and so relaxed, which comes through in the images.
We all had such an incredible time. I am so thankful that they waited for me because photographing them was certainly worth the wait, for me!
